  • Tasting Note

In Mapuche, the native language of pre-colonial Chile, the word Am means “beautiful spirit”. We thought this a good name for this wine.

This varietal disappeared from Médoc after the outbreak of phylloxera in the mid-nineteenth century. It reappeared in Chile at the end of the 20th century.

This wine has a beautiful intense, dark red violet color, pleasant aromas of fruit on the nose, ripe and fresh, medium intensity, pleasant mouth, medium soft body, pleasant tannins that give it complexity, firm, with good gray, spices such as black pepper, balanced on the pallet, with a good acidity ratio.

  • Production Technique

WINEMAKER : José Antonio Bravo von Bischoffshausen

PROCESS : Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in a stainless steel tank, for approximately 13 days, with a regimen of 2 pump-overs per day, no correction of acidity. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation.  The process finishes with a cleanup and addition of sulfites.

Day One: Bright, nearly opaque, ruby with a light garnet rim. Viscous. Immediately earthy with notes of moss, mulch, dried herbs, mint leaf. Fruits follow including plum, fig and cherry, then oak notes of cumin, cedar and vanilla. Medium bodied, lightly chewy and dry, with a long but finely grainy finish.

Day Two: Fruit forward with inviting notes of cherry pie along with oak notes of maple, clove and cinnamon. More supple with 24 hours aeration, still finely chewy, and dry.

Day Three: Here it is – raspberry, cherry, mulberry boysenberry, and, bay leaf, sage leaf, fennel seed and cumin. Really supple, fresh, balanced and dry.
